Job Summary:
We have a great opportunity for a Qualified social worker to join a children’s team in South East London
Responsibilities:
Safeguard and promote the welfare of children in need, working wherever possible with parents / carers to ensure that children have a childhood that is safe and that they are securely attached to their carer. Wherever possible promote choice in the way that services are provided
Seek to build on the strengths and resilience within families
Secure the involvement and appropriate participation of children and young people, and their parents / carers.
Receive and evaluate requests for Children and Families social services, ensuring that an appropriate and timely response is made in accordance with organisational arrangements, departmental policy, legal requirements and regulated standards.
Receive and respond to requests for service, passing on information to the relevant work colleagues as required.
Ensure that the people or organisations that have requested the service are kept informed of the outcome of their request.
Co-ordinate or contribute to assessments of need, including initial, core, court and other specialist assessments.
To analyse information and make recommendations on the appropriate services or support for individual children and their families.
To maximise the use of information and communication technologies to ensure the effective communication between professionals working with children in need and their families.
Carry out actions arising from assessments of need, including designing appropriate packages of service or support, providing advice, services or support to children and families, or presenting cases to Fostering or Adoption Panels, or to courts.
• Pay rate is between £20– £25 per hour
GSCC Registration is essential.
