Job Summary:
We have a great opportunity for a Qualified social worker to join a children’s team in North West London
Responsibilities:
1. To provide a preventative and rehabilitative service within the criteria of the Children Act,facilitating appropriate resources where necessary to enable disabled children and siblings to remain with their own families.
2. To assess situations where disabled children or their siblings are referred as being in need of protection, accommodation or care provision, and take appropriate action based on evidence.
3. To plan quickly and effectively, involving carers as partners in the decisions made in respect of children.
4. To aim that disabled children and siblings should remain with their own families wherever possible.
5. To provide an emergency service for assessment and action where disabled children or their siblings are referred as being at risk of immediate physical danger.
6. To liase with other sections of the Department and other relevant agencies to ensure that good childcare practice is carried out in line with departmental policy including groups and agencies.
7. To participate in relevant training and monitoring consistent standards of work.
8. Other duties of a similar level of responsibility as may be required.
• Pay rate is between £18– £22 per hour
GSCC Registration is essential.
